Dannii Minogue shows off stunning figure in turquoise skintight Herve Leger bodycon bandage dress

By Jody Thompson

True blue: Dannii Minogue went to the launch ofTerry Ronald's debut novel Becoming Nancy last night wearing a stunning turquoise Herve Leger bodycon bandage dress

She gave birth to son Ethan less than nine months ago - but Dannii Minogue showed not an ounce of babyweight as she sizzled in a ferociously tight dress last night.

The star was wearing the turquoise Herve Leger bodycon bandage dress to the launch of her best friend's novel.

The X Factor judge had pulled out all the stops to show her support for Terry Ronald, whose debut Becoming Nancy went on sale yesterday.

The occasion was celebrated with a party at London's Westbury Hotel, comeplete with champagne and cupcakes.

Dannii gushed on her official Twitter: 'Becoming Nancy: this book is for any kid who ever lay on their bed staring up at a poster of Debbie Harry.

'Terry is a lyrical maestro. The characters in Nancy will jump off the pages and tap into your heart @terryronald'

Yummy mummy: The X Factor judge was wearing her hair in a quiff and had accessorised her dress with a cream coat and nude peep toe stilettos

Minogue love: Dannii popped round to sister Kylie's house after the launch to make the most of her night off from looking after her nine-month-old baby Ethan

Dannii's best friend and confidant, singer-songwriter and producer Terry has worked with Dannii on a host of her tracks over the years and co-wrote the star's autobiographer My Story.

His novel meanwhile is a coming-of-age and coming out novel set in working class London in the Seventies.

It's about a pop-music obsessed boy called David who is cast as Nancy in an upcoming school production of Oliver.

Living in a three-bedroom semi in 1970s' working-class East Dulwich, surrounded by his somewhat colourful relatives, he is bright, smart-mouthed, fanatical about pop music and ready to shine.

As rehearsals begin, he strikes up a friendship with the handsome yet enigmatic Maxie Boswell, captain of the school football team - which threatens to turn into something more.

Home, James: The stunning star then sped off home after a night spent with two of her favourite people

Discovering a confidant in empathetic teacher, Hamish McClarnon, and spurred on by his no-nonsense best friend, Frances Bassey, David takes on the school bully, the National Front, and anyone else who threatens to stand in the way of true love.

Dannii meanwhile revealed that her stunning figure wasn't the result of starving herself however.

She revealed she'd indulged in some of the cupcakes last night, and just last week, she wrote on her Twitter last week: 'Fat chips and champagne rocks'.

The X Factor judge had worn an equally figure-hugging black and white frock the night before too to launch he new Fibrelash false-lash effect beauty treatment by ModelCo.

Another Herve Leger confection, her black and white Audrey frock again showed not an ounce of excess fat on the tiny Aussie's frame.

Black and white: The trim star was in Herve Leger on Monday night too when she launched the new Fibrelash Brush for False Lashes beauty treatment at London's Hospital Club

The star also clearly chuffed at the shape she's in and Tweeted the story Mail Online wrote about her yesterday to her followers.

Dannii is also back in the UK for talks with show bosses about her future on the X Factor.

It comes as myriad rumours circulate about who is set to be on the panel of this year's show.

The star, who splits her time between her home city of Melbourne in Australia and London, is hoping to return full time this year after having to sit out of the auditions last year whilst heavily pregnant and then having baby Ethan in July.

Dannii and Louis are hoping to make their return, but with Simon Cowell now not appearing as a judge to concentrate on the U.S. version of the show, it's left the field wide open.

Mel B has apparently revealed that she could be replacing Cheryl Cole, who's also set to transfer to the U.S. version, and it's said that Ozzy Osbourne is in talks to have a role on the show.

Danni Minogue… is she still on X-factor?

There’s been a big scandal this week about the use of “Autotune” on X factor!

As a singer myself the thought of using a sound technology to make up for lack of singing ability appals me! I’ve never sought a career as a singer, but I’ve always had a good singing voice. I regularly lead worship singing and I’ve never needed artificial assistance. And trust me, I’d be told if I was off key – or at least never invited to sing again! And I’ve been a regular for over 15 years.

I’ve also heard plenty of great singers live! So why would anyone who’s any good need an autotune? Surely it’s a basic that a singer MUST be able to sing in tune? Or am I missing something here?

I feel like being bitchy and saying “So that’s how all those Pretty girls (and boys) become famous when they can’t sing! The technology does it for them!” I don’t think I’m jealous. No, honest, I don’t! But is it too much to want to hear decent singers? And not pretty, half-naked, wanabees who wouldn’t know a well pitched melody line from their elbow.

And the nudity is another issue, I understand men would probably disagree! But am I the only person who wants to see female celebrities cover up more? I don’t find it in the least attractive! Less is more as they say! Although they may think that’s what they’re doing? Rolls eyes. I’m not averse to nudity, heck, I do life drawing. But there’s a time and place and I think certain types of dress prevent an artist from being taken seriously! Take Beyonce… she’s talented, she sings songs about being an independent woman! But how many men really pay attention to her voice? Honestly?

I heard a quote from Siousie Sioux  around the time of the Susan Boyle phenomenon. Siousie felt women were under more pressure to look good now than when she started her career. I fear she may be right! But what went wrong?

Musical talent should be heard…being seen is irrelevant! Why, in an age of “acceptance and equality” are we even more obsessed with image? I know, this from a visual artist! What can I say, I love music, and want to see talent not fakery!

Anyway, back to the X-factor!

Danni Minogue

Now, last time I checked Danni Minogue was an X factor judge! Which is why I chose her for my subject this week. OK, I admit it, I have a real problem keeping up with the ins and outs of the current celebrities! Maybe the link is tenuous, but hey, it’s fairly topical! And there’s something about a baby…last month!

I’ve heard Danni sing, but I couldn’t tell you whether she used Autotune. Let’s assume not, for legal reasons! And her older sister is Kylie! And she has to compete with her success! I would sympathise! But Danni’s not exactly struggling herself!

I think I might do Siousie Sioux next week!

Dannii Minogue

Dannii MinogueJust a sketch tonight. Decided to try Dannii to improve my sketching skills, not happy with the mouth. Started an oil painting which isn't finished yet.

I'm feeling rather negative about my artistic skills today. Spent some time surfing the web and seen some really cool stuff, must practice, so much to learn.
