The Oscars are heading towards us steadily and surely, ready to reach TV screens on the 27th of this month. Now obviously those nominated deserve the acknowledgement, however there have been more than few actors/actresses over recent years who have yet to gain such recognition, although their talents have not gone unnoticed.
Fl@unt predicts the movie names who will most certainly gain a statue in the near future...
RYAN GOSLING - Currently starring in indie flick 'Blue Valentine', portraying a half of a broken marriage, Gosling's natural humorous charm manages to cling onto the hearts of the audience. His ability to present himself completely raw is admirable.
CAREY MULLIGAN - Oscar-nominated for the first time last year for 'An Education', the movie-world has opened its eyes to the effortless acting ability of the British actress. Mulligan brings a sense of normalcy in her screen presence, allowing the audience to recognise an aspect of their humanity in her portrayal. She is starring in 'Never Let Me Go' due out this month.
ANDREW GARFIELD - His new role as Spiderman might not achieve him an Oscar but who knows? Based on his effective supporting role in the Social Network as facebook founder, Mark Zuckerburg's shunned out former best friend, Garfield immediately caught the attention of viewers. We understood his portrayal of a frustrated young man and frankly, like many, Fl@unt believes he was robbed of an Oscar nomination this year.
KEIRA KNIGHTLEY - She's been a famous film actress since British flick 'Bend It Like Beckham' in 2002 aged just 17, and even then the media were estimating big accolades for this young actress. Knightley enjoys playing nostalgic roles, often portraying the plight of the young woman in earlier eras and she does it well displaying old-school grace mixed with a contemporary confidence. Knightley reveals the strength of the female mind and also weakness as women battle with the restrictions of a society that has since changed considerably.
