"Tiny But Mighty": A Perfect Description for Razer's Portable Speakers Dubbed as Ferox

When you’re gaming, the quality of your audio can actually play a big part in the experience. Having a nice set of speakers is nice, but not always practical. When your main machine is a laptop, carrying around an extra pair of bulky speakers generally isn’t an option, so most people opt to either continue using their built-in speakers or bring headphones. The people at Razer have a new offering that might just change the way you think about portable speakers.

The Ferox is a set of rather small speakers, only about 2.5-inches tall. However, Razer is touting that their omni-directional sound will blow you away. They also use auto-expanding resonance chambers to replicate the sound that would otherwise be achieved by a pair of subwoofers integrated into the speakers.

Probably the most interesting feature is that the speakers don’t need to be plugged into a power source to work. Instead, they’re packed with rechargeable batteries that will last up to 12 hours on a single charge. This means no need to carry around a bulky wall plug, or tying up USB ports for power. At $59.99, I’m really interested to see how these little guys perform.
